Hitting the Mountain

We've been loving having the Bop home for the week. It is nice to just have a staycation with the big Bear. The boys have been experimenting with physics all week. Gyroscopes, rubber band propelled air planes, skiing. They also camped out in the living room trying out their new head lamps and sleeping bag. We're going to have a rough time on Monday when Bop goes back to work. At least the little guy will be starting preschool on Weds. for 2 mornings a week. That will distract us a little.

Little Bear took his first runs on real skis at Alyeska today. It was a great success, if success is measured by the fact that he had fun, wanted to go down over and over and wants to do it again. It helps that he has a great Bop focused on it being fun, relaxed & took warm up breaks for cocoa & cookies. There were some crazy over zelous parents there with toddlers screaming "No" as they went down and their parents giving them directions they couldn't yet understand. We were prepared to only last 15 minutes for the first time but were there for an hour and a half.  On the way home we stopped at a favorite restaurant in Girdwood, Chair 5 for some yummy pizza.
